Adam Niklewicz
‘Niklewicz stands back and Assumes a detached view of the objects attempting to discover new and secret aspects of reality by making obvious things and finding odd playful qualities along with clear and palpable symbolism. Search contemplative detachment translates into absurd situations of suspended practicality but with healthy dose of irony and humor - all communicated through mediums ranging from sculpture, video, installation and conceptual photography. Much of Niklewicz’s work is informed by the dislocation he feels as a Polish-born American. ‘

Sebastiaan Bremer
-“For more than five years, Bremer has been drawing ethereal, shimmering skeins of dots, lines and circles in white and colored inks, which he applied directly to the surfaces of personal snap-shots. Then he re-photographs the images and enlarges them as C-prints. Family and Friends, places and landscapes from Bremer’s life, sometimes out-of-focus and barely discernible feature in photographs that function as fixed memories of vanished moments.”

  15. dear art,

I love you. i think i loved you before we even met. I will always be thankful to the people who introduced me to you.

there have been many times when I feared that I’m not good enough for you. there still are. but after all these long years my love for you has never withered. I still get nervous butterflies when I think of you. whenever I see you my heart starts racing. i feel excited, alert, inspired… i feel so alive!

i often feel i have let you down by not spending all my waking life with you. i dream about you all the time but sometimes i feel like we can never be together because i don’t have enough courage to work tirelessly toward it. or to finally jump in with both feet and face you. or i don’t know the right paths and the right people who could bring me closer to you. i still feel i’m too new for this, that i’m not ready, that something’s missing… in fact i feel like i’m standing at your window, looking inside. i see all the fun and beauty as well as the hard work and anguish. and i really want to get inside but i don’t dare to break in. and i can’t find the door… but my dear art i love you so much, i can not imagine my life without you!

so i hope it will be like in all those wonderful movies - that love will show me the way. that i will find courage and that i will work out a plan to be with you, to be a part of you. i know you’ll never give up on me.

    yours always,

    A
